SILENT HILL: Townfall Strange Gate — Mechanical Parts & Assembly

The Strange Gate needs three Mechanical Parts from CEG lockers 17, 204 and 94. Part sources, the house puzzles behind them, assembly, and what the gate opens.

    Location:
Clara Woods Estate — the Strange Gate on the way to Atlas Way / CEG Tower
    Area:
    Clara Woods Estate
    Part:
    Clara Woods
    Chapter:
    Part 4 — Chapters 9-11

    Quick solution: 3 Mechanical Parts (lockers 17 + 204 + 94) → combine → insert into the Strange Gate

Reward: The gate to CEG Tower opens (Key to the Castle trophy progress)

    Quick answer

The Strange Gate between the Clara Woods estate and CEG Tower takes a constructed device: three Mechanical Parts, one hidden in each of the CEG employee lockers 17, 204 and 94. Combine them in the inventory, insert the finished mechanism into the gate, and the way to CEG HQ opens — this is the Key to the Castle story-trophy beat (mapped on the trophies hub goal map to this page).

    Which gate is this?

The gate sits on the Atlas Way approach that Clara Woods’ chapter blocks off. It takes no code: it is a mechanism you complete with parts. If you are standing at a keypad door, that is a different object — the CEG access card chain starts after this gate is open.

    Mechanical parts checklist

Every part comes from the same building — the CEG Employee Lockers — but each locker’s barcode comes from a different house puzzle:

Branch House puzzle (barcode source) Locker Locker pin Inside
South Brae Floppy-disk repair at 5 South Brae → printed part ID 956 → black box 17 575 Mechanical Part + Boltcutters
    North Brae Painting-safe at 6 North Brae → 736 → barcode 204 971 Mechanical Part
Upper Brae Tape-puzzle safe at 5 Upper Brae → barcode 94 490 Mechanical Part

    Which branch are you missing?

The three chains are independent — check your inventory against the table:

    • No Boltcutters yet? Do the South Brae branch first: the floppy-disk chain ends in locker 17, whose Boltcutters unlock the upstairs area the other branches pass through (ShowGamer’s ordering has locker 17 before 6 North Brae for exactly this reason).
    • Need the North Brae safe? The painting-safe guide covers the poem hint and 736.
    • Need the Upper Brae safe? The tape puzzle guide page hosts that branch’s chain.

One practical warning from KeenGamer worth planning around: some locks reject a correct code until the matching clue or key item has been collected. If a locker refuses a pin you know is right, you are missing an earlier pickup in that branch — not entering it wrong.

    Combine the parts

With all three parts in the inventory, combine them: per KeenGamer, join the two disc-shaped pieces first, then attach the cylindrical component.

    Use the constructed device

Insert the assembled mechanism into the Strange Gate. The gate opens onto the Atlas Way approach and the CEG Tower — where the CEG access card chain takes over as the next gate-blocking task, ending Part 4 at the elevator.

    What comes next

Open gate → CEG HQ → access card → 10th floor → Part 5: Richard. The Clara Woods walkthrough keeps the full chapter order; the documents checklist rows for this estate (code grids, locker lists) are worth sweeping during the same loop.

    What this page rests on

KeenGamer’s all-puzzles guide (read in full, 2026-09-24) is the step-source for the parts list, the locker pairing and the assembly order. PowerPyx’s Part 4 page (read in full, same day) independently confirms each locker’s pin and contents, and ShowGamer’s branch guides (read in full) confirm the South Brae and North Brae chains end-to-end. The page keeps a source-checked status: no gate opening was performed on this site, and the assembly order is quoted from KeenGamer rather than asserted as tested.
