SILENT HILL: Townfall CEG Generator Puzzle Solution

Which generator is this?

This is the exterior generator behind CEG HQ, encountered at the start of Part 5 (Richard). It powers the elevator that gives you access into the building. It is not the alarm panel, the SWDP control room, or any other power puzzle from earlier parts.

Where is the Generator Key?

The Generator Key is in the upstairs Manager’s Office cabinet. From the yard, enter through the partly open shutter, use the red-lit stairwell and follow the upper corridor to the office. Take the key from the hook labelled GENERATOR, then return to the generator enclosure. The office is reached through the building; it is not the first exterior door beside the machine.

How do I set the rear levers?

Face the rear lever bank before applying left/right instructions. PowerPyx describes this final arrangement; use the linked footage to compare the controls rather than interpreting left/right from the front:

How do I start the generator?

1. Set the three rear levers to the positions above.
2. Go to the front panel — insert and turn the key at the ignition on the right.
3. Pull the red lever on the left side.

The generator starts and the elevator powers on, giving you access into CEG HQ. Before riding it, read both emails on the exterior computer as described below. Then follow the scaffold-window entry route.

Before boarding: collect the two exterior computer entries

With power restored, return to the first parking-lot building, enter its right-hand room and read the computer’s top and bottom emails: Facilities: Works Halted and DONTREAD.DOC. PowerPyx explicitly warns to collect both before using the exterior lift. Check them against Part 5 Documents and Clues.

Once the exterior sweep is complete, take the construction lift and follow the scaffold route into CEG HQ. The later CEO elevator is a separate collection checkpoint.

Troubleshooting

• The elevator doesn’t respond — confirm all three rear levers are set correctly, then check the key and front red lever. Compare the resulting display with the video rather than treating a key insertion alone as success.
• Can’t find the Manager’s Office — take the yard shutter route into the building, then the red-lit stairs to the office floor.
