    Spoiler-free premise — official setting

OFFICIAL PREMISE: St. Amelia is a Scottish island town, and the year is 1996. Simon Ordell returns to a place that feels unfamiliar, carrying medical equipment and facing questions about why he is there. Townfall is presented as a self-contained Silent Hill story; you do not need a fabricated cross-game chronology to follow this starting point.

The premise raises a useful question for reading the game: who remembers what, and why do their accounts differ? Keep that question open rather than deciding that every strange image proves a single explanation.

Official trailer — premise and atmosphere

KONAMI’s release-date trailer introduces the setting and characters. It is promotional footage, not evidence for a final-boss strategy or a canon ending. The player loads only after you choose to open it; the original-platform link remains available if playback is restricted.

    Characters and playable perspectives

Character Established role in the sources used here Where to follow that perspective
Simon Ordell Officially introduced central character; present in the opening, return journey and final stretch Arrival, Chapter 6 in Part 2, Simon
Zoe Ellis The developer introduces her as a nurse at the family clinic; her playable sections include rounds and treatment Zoe and The Patient
Richard Playable perspective of the CEG tower sequence in the published route Richard
Dr. Glenn Named doctor in the Medical Centre procedure and security-phone chain The Patient

DEVELOPER COMMENT: the June announcement deliberately contrasts Zoe calling Simon back with her surprise when he appears, while Simon does not recognize her or the town. That tension is part of the official introduction; it does not, by itself, establish a complete relationship history.

“Clara Woods” is a place and Part label, not another character in this cast list.

What the CRTV contributes to the story

DEVELOPER COMMENT: the February reveal describes a handheld television whose signals contribute to storytelling as well as threat detection. It changes what the player can perceive while exploring in first person.

EDITORIAL INTERPRETATION: a device that must be tuned makes listening an active task. Interference can encourage uncertainty about what has been heard, but it is not proof that every broadcast has the same narrator or occurs at the same moment. For the actual interactions and collection requirements, use the CRTV guide.

    Part-by-part story progression

IN-GAME FACT — source-checked route record: these are the playable events documented by the linked walkthroughs, not a reconstructed timeline of everything that happened before the game.

Part What the player does What to keep separate
1 · Arrival, Chapters 1–4 Simon reaches Shorefront, enters Zoe’s house and investigates the family clinic A document pickup is not automatically an explanation of its author
2 · Zoe, Chapters 5–6 Zoe makes her rounds; Chapter 6 returns to Simon’s journey toward Medical The Part title does not mean both chapters use Zoe
3 · The Patient, Chapters 7–8 Medical procedures give way to the altered ward and transfusion sequence The procedure’s puzzle inputs are distinct from its thematic meaning
4 · Clara Woods, Chapters 9–11 House, disk and tape investigations converge on the Strange Gate and CEG access House-state changes should not be treated as a fully dated historical chronology
5 · Richard, Chapters 12–13 The CEG tower and Boardroom sequence connect access, records and the projector Richard’s institutional route does not establish every character’s motive
6 · Simon, Chapters 14–17 Altered CEG and SWDP systems lead to the final encounter and return Finishing the boss is not the final document pickup

What the documents can actually establish

The 85-document checklist helps locate records, clues and photographs. It is not a transcript archive. A title such as “Richard’s Note” confirms an item to look for; it is not enough to quote Richard or assert what he secretly intended.

For your own reading, record the text, named author, location and character perspective together. Compare an explicit date with another explicit date, not with the order in which two items were collected. This keeps an apparent contradiction available for interpretation without turning it into a made-up event. We publish no complete pre-game timeline from titles alone.

Final act and the five endings

IN-GAME FACT — source-checked route record: Chapter 16’s confrontation with The Weight is followed by Chapter 17’s return. The normal ending route and the NG+ branches have separate conditions, covered by the five-ending overview: Justice, Forever, Abandoned, Dog and Sci-fi. Dog and Sci-fi belong to NG+; the Sci-fi route can leave before the standard final confrontation.

EDITORIAL INTERPRETATION: the different outcomes invite readings about responsibility, attachment and repetition. Those are interpretive lenses, not official declarations that one ending is canon. Gameplay conditions such as the reported ending score influence which route is selected; they do not settle the meaning of every image in its conclusion.

No sixth ending, additional town, secret dated chronology or uncredited NPC is added from an SEO page. Expanding this overview requires actual dialogue, document text, ending footage or an attributable developer statement. Until then, the linked routes answer how to see the story without pretending its ambiguities are already resolved.

Who created the music and sound?

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Anthony Scott Burns, known as Pilotpriest, composed the score. Audio director Byron Bullock and Arrival worked on sound effects, foley and an adaptive score system that responds to player and enemy actions. The official track Home offers a way to hear that atmosphere alongside promotional views of St. Amelia; it is not evidence for a particular ending.

Is The Dock House an official companion story?
