SILENT HILL: Townfall Missables & Point of No Return — Save Planning
What is missable in SILENT HILL: Townfall: 17 missable trophies, one-time chapters that never replay, and the phone-save discipline that keeps every miss reloadable.
Planning Reject The Help? Back out of the initial save prompt and avoid manual phone saves during that challenge run. The frequent-save advice below is for ordinary story and collection runs. Read the no-manual-save challenge before starting.
What is actually missable?
Two rules create every miss in this game:
- Chapters never replay. Once you leave an area, its one-time pickups — documents, containers, coins — stay behind you unless you reload a save.
- 17 of the 37 trophies are flagged missable: they depend on doing something inside those one-time chapters.
Everything else — combat counters like crafting 20 items or distracting 20 enemies with bottles — accumulates across playthroughs, so a “miss” there is just a delay.

| Bucket | What it covers | Hosting page |
|---|---|---|
| Collectible sweeps | Documents (85), phone numbers, CRTV signals, postcards, resource containers | Collectibles hub |
| Endings | All five endings; the main-ending score is under review, so save early and do not rely on a fixed kills-minus-Discoveries target | Endings overview |
| One-run weapon kills | Creative Process: kill with Plank, Pipe, Pistol, Shotgun, Flare Gun, Bottle and Brick in a single playthrough | Trophies hub |
| Challenge runs | Reject The Help (back out of the initial save menu; avoid manual saves) and Save It For The Patients (no healing in Ch. 5 + Ch. 7) | Trophies hub |
| NG+ pickups | Axe and Pistol-3000 spawn in specific one-time spots | Axe location |
Point of no return, in practice
There is no single late-game gate to worry about — the effect is continuous: every chapter transition is a small point of no return for that area’s collectibles. The endgame shift into the final areas is the biggest one, because it closes the town areas behind you for the run.
The practical ritual that covers all of it:
- Save at every phone booth you pass — dial 100, it is instant (how saving works).
- Save again right before a chapter transition or any door the story clearly closes behind you.
- Before picking up any one-time item, glance at the checklist — if it belongs to a set (documents, containers), confirm the set’s other members are done in this area first.
- Missed something? Do not push forward hoping to circle back — reload the area save immediately. Later does not exist for that area.
CEG HQ: two different elevator checkpoints
| Checkpoint | Finish before proceeding |
|---|---|
| Exterior construction lift, after starting the generator | Revisit the first yard building, right-hand room. Read Facilities: Works Halted and DONTREAD.DOC on the powered computer. Check all five exterior pickups. |
| CEO elevator to 10F, after the projector | Finish the accessible tower-floor sweep. CEG Tower: He’s Done is on 10F after this ride; collect it there. |
PowerPyx added the exterior warning on 26 September after a player reported missing the emails and being unable to return following an autosave. The Richard route places the reminder before boarding; the Part 5 checklist lists all 12 entries. During Reject The Help, perform these pickup checks without making a manual save.
Planning challenge runs together
If you want Reject The Help or Save It For The Patients, decide before the run starts — both are full-chapter behaviors, not pickups. The roadmap author’s suggested shape: do a careful collecting first run, keep the challenge runs for a New Game Plus pass where you know the route, and bank manual saves aggressively on the collection run. The trophy hub maps all 37 goals; the Fleeting Visit sub-4-hour run has its own page.
What this page rests on
The missable list, NG+ accumulation behavior and challenge-run rules come from PowerPyx’s roadmap (read in full, 2026-09-24); the area-lockout statement is corroborated by GameRant’s documents guide (read in full, same day). The save discipline sections restate what the published save guide already verifies in-game terms.
