SILENT HILL: Townfall CEG Access Card & Elevator Puzzle

Which Access Card do you need?

This page covers the ground-floor gate card that lets the elevator reach CEG Tower’s 10th floor at the end of Part 4 — the door into Part 5. It is not any of these separate objects:

• the Security room door code (a keypad you enter),
• Richard’s storage box code (a padlock on his seat box),
• the Employee ID (a database entry you type),
• the CEO Access Card (a later, 10th-floor item in Part 5),
• the CEG generator puzzle (Part 4’s gate-power chain, already covered by the Clara Woods route).

Four numbers and one card, each on its own object — they are kept apart below rather than merged into one “CEG code”.

Enter the Security room

Already at the keypad? Use the CEG Security room code and clue location. The steps below continue through the whole card-printing chain.

1. In the Maintenance room, check the trash can: it holds one half of the Case Codes document. Keep it — it is useless until combined.
2. The whiteboard in the same room shows the number 4 with arrows — that is the derivation clue for the Security room keypad.
3. At reception, enter the Security room code: 4895 (per ShowGamer’s walkthrough; PowerPyx’s Part 4 page does not list this door).

Complete the case-code clue

Inside the Security room, the trash can beside the desk holds the second half of the Case Codes sheet. Combine both halves in the inventory — the full document lists the box codes you are about to need.

Identify Richard’s box

In the conference area — rows of chairs and black boxes:

1. Check the podium on the stage: the Box IDs and Names document names the owner of every box. Richard’s box is number 36.
2. Find box 36 by its number and the list — that is the reliable method. The two guides disagree on how to walk to it: ShowGamer says “third row from the front, sixth seat”; PowerPyx says “from the podium, 3rd row up, 7th box over”. Different reference points, different counts — treat both seat descriptions as unverified color, and let the number on the box settle it.
3. Enter the box code: 486.
4. Take the Employee File Cover Note out of the box (it is also one of the 85 Discoveries).

Get the Employee ID and print the Access Card

Back in the Security room:

1. Use the computer with the card reader (PowerPyx calls it the Employee Database computer). Check the reader’s green light first — the printer must be powered for the job to run.
2. Enter the Employee ID: 00007820518 — from Richard’s file. Type it in full: all four leading zeros are part of the ID.
3. Press Up on the D-pad to send the print job.
4. Collect the Printed Access Card from the printer/reader.

Use the elevator

Take the card to the elevator and use it to unlock the 10th floor. The ride triggers a cutscene and closes Part 4 — the story hands over to Part 5: Richard, whose route continues from that floor.

Troubleshooting

• The Security keypad rejects 4895 — re-read the whiteboard: the number 4 and its arrows are the derivation, so confirm you are deriving, not typing a remembered value from another run.
• The box will not take 486 — you are at the wrong box. Count to box 36 by its label, not by seat position (see the discrepancy note above).
• The printer does nothing — the reader’s green light is off; find its power state first, then re-enter the ID.
• The ID looks “too long” — it is not: 00007820518 is the complete value, zeros included.
• The elevator still refuses the card — you are at a different elevator; the card belongs to the ground-floor bank in CEG HQ.

PowerPyx’s Part 4 page, read in full the same day, independently confirms the box number/code pair (36/486), the full Employee ID with its leading zeros, and the print-then-elevator flow — but places box 36 at a different seat and does not list the Security door code. Those deltas are disclosed above rather than averaged.
