What is the clinic reception code?

2896. The keypad sits on the reception door inside the Shorefront Family Clinic, down the corridor past Zoe Ellis’s office. Note: this is the Shorefront clinic in Part 1 (Arrival) — the Records Room keypad at St. Amelia Medical Center in a later part is a different lock with a different code.

Why does the keypad reject 2896 at first?

This is the trick of the puzzle: the code alone is not enough. Walk into Zoe Ellis’s office (second door on the right) and read the yellow sticky note attached to her computer monitor. Only after the note has been read does the keypad accept 2896 as input — enter it before reading and the door simply refuses.

What do you need before reaching reception?

The clinic shutter will not open until you scan Zoe’s Lanyard at the exterior card reader. The lanyard comes from the organ transport box in her apartment — the full chain is covered in the organ transplant box puzzle.

What does reception give you?

Three things, all worth the detour:

• A phone that acts as a manual save point (see how saving works).
• The Nurse’s Rounds Form document on the counter.
• An answering machine message that points the investigation toward the Main Street pharmacy and adds its map marker — the direct route to the pharmacy locker code.
